Representative – Outsourced Base Maintenance
Salary: Up to £76,284 dependent on experience
Hours: Full Time
Location: LHR with international travel
Contract: Permanent

Our Engineering team is made up of aircraft maintenance technicians, engineers, planners, and supply chain teams that help make sure they’re well maintained and ready to get our customers to their chosen destinations. - Assist in the assessment of project scope, compilation and resource plans.
- To provide specialist technical expertise to aircraft maintenance checks and relay this information as required to the OBM team to allow trend analysis.
- To assist the OBM team to produce detailed project plans with budgets, timescales, cost of ownership targets and resource plans.
- Review of audit procedures to ensure they are ‘fit for purpose’.
- To represent the Outsourced Base Maintenance group on project steering teams as required.
- Accountability and delivery of the technical expertise required from the Engineering cross-functional teams to ensure that this is on time and to budget.
- To ensure all relevant parties critical to the project delivery are managed on-site and brought into the programme as timescales require.
- Identify and manage change in business priorities and risks and in liaison with the OBM team amend project delivery accordingly.
- To identify and manage conflict between various stakeholders in order to safeguard delivery of programme.
- To manage milestones with stakeholders so as to safeguard project deliverables.
- To feedback and assist in the establishment and implementation of risk management and problem resolution procedures on an ongoing basis.
- To actively manage time, cost, quality and scope compromises against schedule, budgets and quality assurance plans.
- To capture, track and approve where necessary all changes to design and scope through a VAA approved process.
- To monitor and deliver departmental costs to agreed budget in accordance with departmental policies.
- To conduct post project reviews and identify learning’s that can be applied to future projects.
- To work with stakeholders on in-service performance issues and assist in ensuring that solutions are identified, implemented and integrated into service.
- To provide regular communication to all affected stakeholder parties as required by departmental policies.
- To be accountable for updating Engineering software systems as required by departmental policies.
- Liaison with other functions for data analysis and management.
- To work as required in collaboration with internal project teams, including the definition, compilation and delivery of reports to the relevant stakeholders.
- To conduct, and feedback to the OBM team, ongoing cost/benefit analysis to determine potential opportunities in changes to project scope.
- Monitor the department team and MRO’s for compliance with UK Part CAMO and Part 145 regulations.
- To develop strong working relationships with members of all Engineering departments, cross-departmental stakeholders and third-party stakeholders.
Are you a licensed engineer with excellent relationship building skills? Are you somebody who enjoys the challenge of working to timelines and managing projects? If so, and you have the following skills and experience, we think you’d love this role!
- In depth knowledge of CAA, EASA and other National Airworthiness Authority Regulations.
- Ability to manage internal and external partners with excellent negotiation and commercial management skills.
- Possess excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to compile and deliver presentations and reports to VAA Management and MRO providers.
- Ability to work well on their own initiative and demonstrate strong cross-functional working relationships.
- Strong conflict resolution and influencing skills.
- An aviation/engineering based degree or apprenticeship within the aviation industry.
- Proven experience in delivery of projects to time, cost and quality objectives.
- Part-66 Aircraft Maintenance License - B1 or B2
- Demonstrable experience within the MRO environment.
- Proven track record of budget management/delivery within targets.
- Proven ability of team leadership.
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional teams.
