Crew Support Adviser
Salary: Competitive Salary & Shift Pay for Bank Holidays & Weekends
Shift pattern: Rostered duties to cover 8 am - 6pm, 7 days a week working 1 weekend 4
Location: VHQ, Crawley
Contract: Full Time & Part Time Contracts available

As Advisor – Crew Support, you will report to the Manager – Crew Support and will play a key part in helping to deliver happiness to our crew by providing a high level of support and welfare. In turn, this will help them to produce a memorable experience for our customers.
- Forming part of the Crew Support Centre, supporting, and guiding our crew by providing exceptional support and advice using Virgin Atlantic’s people policies.
- Remain up to date with any operational needs and challenges, being on hand to support our crew whilst striving for continuous improvement within the Crew Support Centre.
- Management of daily sickness, conduct back to work chats and post fatigue chats. Manage punctuality and effectively monitor and track off roster activity.
- Using data and insights to identify trends and to mitigate any risks to our brand, customer experience and employee wellbeing.
- To promote great engagement and service delivery, you will build positive relationships and respond to all queries and calls with consistency within a reasonable timeframe. You will work smartly to ensure any escalations have been processed.
- Working closely with the Crew Support Managers, Crew Performance Managers and Long Term Sickness Manager, you will help drive employee relation cases forward by supporting with any first line cases / investigations, producing reports, and making recommendations.
- You will issue of letters of concern and formal sanctions for sickness and punctuality in line with policy and deliver outcomes in a sensitive manner.
- You will gain a comprehensive understanding of related departments and their responsibilities/policies.
- Ensure all crew absence is managed effectively with a consistent tone whilst minimizing any off-roster impact to our operation.
As Advisor – Crew Support, you will need to be a forward thinker, displaying empathy and compassion, along with the other skills detailed below:
- Employee relations or HR experience desirable or, at least, a good understanding
- Experience working in a crew environment, or similar is highly advantageous
- Ability to prioritise is a necessary skill
- Being able to communicate to teams/individuals via various channels
- Able to confidently use people policies to provide clear advice balancing the needs of the business alongside individual requirements
- Supportive and emotionally resilient, you will remain positive and confident in building everlasting relationships with multiple stakeholders
- A high level of discretion and integrity
