Consultant – People Operations (Delhi)
Hours: 37.5 per week, Monday to Friday
Location: Hybrid working with up to 3 days per week at our 314, Time Tower, M.G.Road, Gurgaon, Haryana.
Contract: Permanent

This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in connecting our global People function with our growing operation in India. As a Consultant in People Operations, you will be at the centre of how we support our colleagues on the ground, ensuring every experience is seamless, compliant, and brilliantly human.
With a fast-growing colleague population across India, this role is critical in ensuring our foundations are strong. From governance and compliance to onboarding and payroll, you will bring structure, rigour, and consistency to how we operate, while maintaining a people-first approach. Working closely with teams across the UK and India, you will help create an environment where colleagues feel supported, leaders feel confident, and the business can scale with confidence.
- Deliver timely, accurate HR advice and support across a range of employee queries in India
- Manage onboarding processes end-to-end, including employee setup, background checks, and compliance validation
- Ensure all HR processes align with local governance and regulatory requirements, including India labour law, ESI, and Shops & Establishment Act, POSH.
- Support the delivery of statutory payroll, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and smooth coordination with UK and India stakeholders
- Partner with payroll leads to ensure appropriate approvals and sign-off processes are followed
- Support employee relations matters, managing lower-level cases and escalating complex issues where required
- Build and maintain compliant policies, systems, and processes that enable operational excellence
- Work closely with stakeholders across the UK and India to ensure alignment, consistency, and clear communication
- Contribute to the development of reward processes, supporting local delivery in partnership with regional leads
- Anticipate operational risks and proactively address challenges to support a growing workforce
- At least 5 years plus proven HR generalist experience within the India market, ideally in a matrix organisation with at least 200+ employees
- Demonstrate that you are confident in navigating employee relations, employment law, and compliance requirements, with evidence in your CV
- Experience supporting or coordinating statutory payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and appropriate governance
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills with other business areas, stakeholders and departments, building trusted relationships and showcasing influencing and negotiation skills
- Experience or exposure to India-specific compliance frameworks, including labour law, POSH, ESI, and statutory requirements
- Experienced in working across geographies, balancing local nuance with global consistency
- Demonstrate discretion and confidentiality with professionalism when handling sensitive matters
- Proactive, solutions-focused, and able to anticipate challenges before they arise
- You are highly organised, detail-oriented, and confident working with systems and data, demonstrating how you have either streamlined process, utilised data to make informed decisions that align to business objectives, or similar
- A SHRM qualification or equivalent would be advantageous
