You don’t need any formal qualifications to apply for a Virgin Atlantic apprenticeship. We’re more interested in your passion, curiosity, and willingness to learn. Our programmes are designed to give you the tools, training and real-world experience you need to thrive – whether you’re just starting out or making a career change.
Not at all! There’s no upper age limit to becoming an apprentice. Apprenticeships aren’t just for school leavers – they’re for anyone who wants to earn while they learn and build new skills in an exciting industry.
However, please note that some of our apprenticeship roles may require you to be at least 18 years old due to the nature of the role or working environment.
Yes, you can still apply! Having a degree doesn’t exclude you from joining one of our apprenticeship programmes.
However, we typically recommend choosing an apprenticeship in a different field from your degree to ensure you’re gaining new skills and experience. It’s all about expanding your horizons – not retracing steps.
It depends. If you’ve completed an apprenticeship in the same field or at the same level, government funding rules may limit your ability to do the same qualification again.
But if you’re looking to move into a new area or step up to a higher-level apprenticeship, there may be opportunities available.
To be eligible for a Virgin Atlantic apprenticeship, you must have the legal right to work in the UK.
Unfortunately, due to Home Office requirements around Skilled Worker visas, we’re unable to sponsor visas for our apprenticeship roles – as the salaries offered don’t meet the minimum threshold for sponsorship.

The length of a Virgin Atlantic apprenticeship depends on the role and the level of qualification.
Most of our programmes typically last between 18 and 24 months, giving you plenty of time to build your skills, confidence, and experience while working towards a recognised qualification.
While we can’t guarantee a permanent role at the end of your apprenticeship, many of our apprentices go on to land full-time jobs across the business. We’re passionate about developing talent, and we always keep a close eye on our apprentices when new opportunities arise.
You’ll never fly solo. From day one, you’ll have access to our dedicated Apprenticeships Team who’ll be with you every step of the way. They’ll work closely with you, your manager and our trusted training provider to make sure your experience is structured, supported and seriously rewarding.

Some apprenticeships may only open once a year depending on business need, while others can pop up more regularly – so be sure to check back often or set up alerts so you don’t miss your chance.
Not at all. Our apprenticeships are designed for people who are just starting out, looking for a change, or eager to learn something new. You don’t need loads of previous experience – what matters most is your attitude, enthusiasm and willingness to grow.
We’ll want to understand what you bring to the table, so tell us about any transferable skills you’ve gained through volunteering, part-time jobs, team sports or school projects. It’s not about the job title – it’s about who you are and what you can offer.
Most of our apprenticeship roles are based at our Head Office in Crawley, West Sussex or at Heathrow Airport – the heartbeat of our operation. Some opportunities may also be remote or hybrid, depending on the role.

Our apprentice salaries range from £19,000 to £30,000, depending on the level and type of scheme you join. We believe in rewarding your time, commitment and talent – and there’s room for progression as you grow.

We know how important time off is. That’s why our apprentices enjoy a generous holiday package designed to support a healthy work-life balance.
You’ll start with at least 20 days of annual leave, which can rise to 25 days depending on how long you stay with us and your role. On top of that, you’ll also get all bank holidays – giving you even more time to relax, recharge or explore the world.
