Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor
Location: Heathrow (HGR)
Hours: Night Shift Mon – Thurs 20:40-07:00
Contract Type: Permanent

Our Engineering team keeps one of the cleanest and greenest fleets in the sky safe, reliable and ready to fly. As an Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor, you will provide effective front-line leadership of aircraft maintenance teams, ensuring the safe and compliant delivery of planned and ad-hoc maintenance activities.
This is a key operational leadership role, accountable for delivering technically clean, safe and reliable aircraft, while driving productivity, compliance and continuous improvement across your shift.
As a supervisor – Aircraft Maintenance, you will:
- Lead and supervise aircraft maintenance teams to deliver the maintenance plan safely, on time and in full.
- Allocate resources, equipment and skills effectively across your shift to maximise productivity and reliability.
- Ensure all planned and non-routine maintenance tasks are completed in line with CAA regulations and Virgin Atlantic procedures.
- Act as the focal point of communication between engineers, Technical Control, Production, and third-party stakeholders.
- Drive compliance with all safety, environmental and health & safety requirements.
- Manage team performance, engagement and development in line with Virgin Atlantic people policies.
- Support the delivery of continuous improvement initiatives across Production to increase efficiency and minimise operational disruption.
- Ensure accurate and compliant maintenance records are maintained in line with Part 145 requirements.
You are an experienced licensed aircraft engineer with proven leadership capability. You take pride in delivering safe, technically excellent aircraft and enjoy leading teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
In addition to the above, we’d love for our successful Supervisor to demonstrate the following:
- A valid UK CAA Part 66 license with one or more of the following types. (A333 (T700), A339 (T7000), B787 (T1000) & A350 (WXB
- Strong knowledge of CAA airworthiness regulations and Part 145 requirements.
- Proven experience working in an aircraft maintenance environment, across line and/or base maintenance.
- Experience leading and motivating multi-skilled engineering teams on shift.
- Sound understanding of engineering IT systems (e.g. Ultramain or equivalent).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence, challenge and engage at all levels.
- A proactive, organised approach with strong decision-making capability in live operational settings.
It would be great if you also brought experience on the Virgin Atlantic fleet and familiarity with our internal production and safety processes, but this is not essential.
